The New Zealand Government is very careful with issues relating to both animal welfare and the importation of livestock. The regulatory body governing the importation of animals into New Zealand is the MPI.

Cats and dogs need to meet specific requirements to enter New Zealand. MPI have created a step-by-step process so you can see what’s involved.

MPI maintain close contact during your pets quarantine period. They will visit and examine your pet at least once a week.

Import Licence and Customs Clearance

We will guide you along the import process and send you a check list for documentation and Import regulations. We will also arrange customs clearance for you. We will send you the relevant forms together with your booking confirmation when you make a booking with us.

Please read all correspondence carefully. It is important that all we receive all documentation back in good time to arrange pre arrival customs clearance and avoid any delays at the airport.
