MPI will only release pets on the 10th day of quarantine or after. Our MPI release days are Monday and Friday with Wednesday as another option if needed but these days will be flexible and may change from week to week. It is recommended that pets arrive in Christchurch on a Friday and a Tuesday if possible, avoiding Wednesday and Thursdays as those release days fall in the weekend.
We are open to receive your pets and are available to help arrange domestic flights to Christchurch if your international flight can only be booked as far as Auckland.
All pets are able to quarantine in Christchurch regardless of which city they first arrive at in New Zealand and the airline they fly to New Zealand on. Please contact us if you need any assistance with this.
Information about animal welfare and travel in Alert Level 1 has been published on the following MPI website:

Our new ‘Booking Centre’ tab allows you to make an enquiry, request a quote online and make a booking. The option ‘Booking Procedure’ takes you through all the steps involved in getting your pets to Canterbury Quarantine.
Whilst you pets are staying with us in quarantine they will be cared for by our experienced kennel staff.
All our staff have undergone our in house kennel care and animal well-being training, and always have your pets comfort and health uppermost in their minds.
We wanted to thank you for the care and attention you gave to Kaiser during his quarantine period. We were very impressed with the professionalism and cleanliness with which your service was run.
